The New FX850PRO LZ Spec Clutch Series Triple disc unit is the latest multi disc unit developed by Clutch Masters for 2026. For over 15 years Clutch Masters has offered their traditional FX850 unit and was used by Adam for the past few years, however the LZMFG team needed something more! Clutch Masters has gone back to the drawing board to revamp and improve the FX850. As a result, Clutch Masters has developed the FX850PRO series which not only improved the product but is the best 8.50ā clutch option in the market.
Whatās new?Ā
- 12 Heat treated steel stands
- 12-Point nut / stud mounting designĀ
- Driven hub design for easy disc alignment
- Three .250ā thick disc rather than 0.150ā

By increasing the pressure plate stands to 12-steel post versus the FX850 standard aluminum 6-post, the unit has a better structural integrity to handle more torque, abuse, and heat. High horsepower / race applications would cause the aluminum post to flex and ware due to the high amount of stress. To solve this weak point the stands were doubled to 12 and made from 4140 heat treated steel.Ā

The other major improvement is the new Driven style hub used on the clutch disc. This new design allows for the disc to be driven by one main hub and not by two or three individual hubs. This upgraded design allows for an easier install and for continual surface contact on the transmissions input shaft which reduces the risk of stripling the splines on the disc.Ā

The new design also allows for Three 0.250ā thick disc which is a huge improvement form the 0.105ā disc that are traditionally used on a triple disc unit. This improvement allows for the unit to have a higher life expectancy and less warpage.

The FX850PRO unit is available in a dual sprung hub center for vehicle still looking for a dampened clutch design, or in a twin / triple disc rigid design for race applications looking for a lighter unit with quick aggressive clutch shifts.

Flywheels are available in both 6061 T6 billet aluminum or 4140 billet steelĀ dependingĀ on theĀ application.

Serviceability: The FX850PRO unit are 100% serviceable, rebuild kits and components are available.Ā

Investing in the infrastructure to design, manufacture, and assemble in house was a crucial step to be able to achieve an improved clutch design for today's market. Being in the driver seat to make quick changes during the R&D phase allowed Clutch Masters to make improvements based off the feedback from the race team who had a huge input in developing the FX850PRO unit. Units are SFI Certified, meeting performance standards for the automotive and motorsport industry.
