FAQ

1. What starter should be used with the PMC Motorsport Mitsubishi 4G63 - BMW adapter?

For mounting the adapter, use a BMW M50-M54 starter.

2. The GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearbox does not fit all holes of the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter.

The PMC Motorsport adapter is the most universal adapter available on the market, supporting virtually every BMW gearbox. When designing the adapter, we decided on certain compromises. This is the case with GETRAG 250 / GETRAG 420 / ZF 310 / ZF 320 / ZF5 gearboxes, where the two upper holes need to be slightly ground in the gearbox housing/bellhousing. This modification does not affect the centering of the engine and gearbox.

3. Can I use the gearbox adapter for the 6-speed GS6-53DZ / GS6-53BZ gearbox?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change the gearbox, you only need to replace the flywheel and clutch disc.

4. Can I use the PMC Motorsport Mitsubishi 4G63 - BMW gearbox adapter for ZF 8HP?

Yes, the PMC Motorsport gearbox adapter itself is universal and fits most BMW gearboxes available on the market (applies to adapters manufactured after 2022). If you want to change to a ZF 8HP automatic gearbox, you need to replace the standard flywheel with an 8HP converter adapter (PMC Motorsport).

5. What clutch can I use with the PMC Motorsport flywheel?

The Mitsubishi 4G63 - BMW ZF5 flywheel was designed for a BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58 / BMW E46 M3 / Sachs Performance 883082.001243 clutch pressure plate. Very often, clutches from ACT / Spec / Tanaci are used with our kit (it is important that the custom clutch pressure plate also fits the BMW OE flywheel: BMW M57 / M57N / M57N2 / N54 / B58). For your gearbox, you should use a clutch disc with the appropriate spline, a dedicated release bearing kit, and a release cylinder.
