If you're having trouble with accurate shifts, you may want to check out your shifter bushings, both the cushion seat under the main pivot for the shifter and the cap on the end.

Quite often the stock bushings are damaged or missing on the older transmission and shifting isn't as accurate, sometimes it just doesn't even want to shift!

Our bushing kit comes with a new Urethane base cushion and a glass reinforced Nylon cap making it easy to replace both at the same time with high quality pieces.
